I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
